January 22, 2021: Construction Update – January 22, 2021
Pond Area Parking Lot to be Closed for Re-Paving
The parking lot at the District’s Reclamation Area is scheduled to be temporarily closed for resurfacing/repaving. The lot closure is currently anticipated to start on February 8, weather permitting, and is expected to continue for an estimated two-to-three weeks. During this time there will be no vehicle access to the Reclamation Area parking lot. For the public’s safety, pedestrian access is discouraged during this construction work.
Please note that this schedule is subject to change due to weather, unforeseen circumstances, or other factors. The District web page will be updated with any changes to this anticipated timetable.
The District apologizes for this temporary disruption. The end result will be a smoother, more convenient parking area for the public to use when accessing the Reclamation Area ponds.
Please note that from late January through early February there will be paving work underway at the Reclamation Area Maintenance Shop, located at the northeast corner of the pond area. During that work, visitors to the ponds will see increased construction traffic along the trails and the levees. Please use extra caution and be aware of vehicles and equipment if you are on the trails during this work.
When visiting the reclamation area, please utilize all public health and social distancing practices, for your safety and that of other visitors, and be aware of construction vehicles on Smith Ranch Road.
